Cornish Foundation Inc. ensures that students with disabilities (SWD), and Independent Schools throughout the New York

City area, Louisiana, and Mississippi maintain special education mandates in accordance with state and federal

guidelines by reviewing the schools MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Supports) and RTI

(Response to Interventions) to meet IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)

Finder's System (identifying students with disabilities (SWD) and providing Tier 2 & Tier 3

Interventions for students to avoid specialized services.

We ensure that schools meet the mandated services, protected by IDEA, i.e., SETSS, speech & language, counseling, PT, OT,

and other related services provided by the NYCDOE Committee on Special Education

are audited (FREE INITIALLY) to ensure compliance and implementation. 

PARENT ADVOCACY

CORNISH FOUNDATION IS CURRENTLY ADVOCATING FOR PARENTAL RIGHTS IN SECURING A FREE & APPROPRIATE EDUCATION (FRAPE) FOR YOUR CHILD. WE HELP PARENTS IN GETTING THEIR CHILD'S MANDATED SERVICES, SETSS, SPEECH & LANGUAGE, PT, OT, HEARING, COUNSELING, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES, (EX: iPAD), ETC. WE WILL ASSIST (FREE) WITH FILING IMPARTIAL HEARINGS IF YOUR CHILD'S MANDATES AND/OR SERVICES ARE NOT PROVIDED.

Kigali, Rwanda

Cornish Foundation recently expedited emergency funds to Kigali, Rwanda of which our African representative,

Ezie'chiel Munyabarenzi, Vice President personally delivered food and supplies to nearby villages that were flood-damaged and had no access to resources.

Congrats to this guy, Le Saint, who was the Lead Coder for his Adalphi University's Robotic Team in Winning 1st Place in the New York State Robotics Competition, following in the steps of his BIG Bro, Romon! #ProudDad

Cornish Foundation Inc. Volunteer with Small Business Program was in full effect Saturday, July 15th at Smiley's Fish Fry in The Bronx. We volunteered 5 hours on the grill (Jerk Chicken), set up, and on-going clean up and service to Smiley's very satisfied customers.

and received a signed copy of Herc, Herc! How DJ Kool Herc Used Hip Hop for Peace. The first children's (creative non-fiction) book written with The Bronx students 15 years ago because they had no idea that Hip Hop began in The Bronx!

Cornish Foundation, Inc. Youth Mentoring, Sports, and Academic Enrichment Summer Program has begun. The program's mission is to become the model for inner-city fathers to initiate transforming their backyards into "Micro-Community Centers.

We have converted our home into a Male Youth/Fathers community center. Swimming, golf, darts, boxing, martial arts, basketball, field trips (taking kids to Yanks game next month), tennis, baseball, etc. Our health initiative consist of neighborhood fathers working out with neighborhood young men as we converted our car garage into a weight room.

Mission

Cornish Foundation Inc.exists to provide mentoring, sports, academic, and health programs for young men throughout the New York City area and beyond. Without a single donation, the foundation is off to a great start by signing up young men at schools and community affairs to participate in its mentoring, sports, and health programs.

Cornish Foundation Inc. supports and provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) events at schools and community events.

Cornish Foundation Inc.ensures that independent schools throughout the New York City area maintain special education mandates in accordance with state and federal guidelines by reviewing the schools MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Supports) and RTI (Response to Interventions). The school's mandated services, i.e., SETSS, speech & language, counseling, PT, OT, and other related services provided by the NYCDOE are audited to ensure compliance and implementation. 

Cornish Foundation Inc. provides teacher training via workshops or personal 1:1 training to administrators and staff on special education topics.

Cornish Foundation Inc. Volunteer with Small Business Program

Cornish Foundation Inc. provides village (food donations, flood recovery, water projects) and educational assistance to Rwanda organizations and independent schools that are adopting an inclusive model for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
